Do you have wide knowledge or deep knowledge? My knowledge is very wide. I am not just talking about my experiences, such as: 1. Visiting San Quentin Prison 2. Being on the deck of an aircraft carrier 3. Getting a tour of Israel with the Israeli ambassador 4. Being on a private jet when a candidate announces he is running for President of the United States Yes, I have all that experience, but my knowledge of the tech industry is also very wide, but it is not very deep. My friend Adrian Kaehler can write math equations on a whiteboard for how an autonomous car goes through an intersection; that is not me (he built the computer vision system for the first Waymo). You can see this difference in this video here. I know more about Tesla FSD than Hector does. But I guarantee you, his knowledge about AI is far deeper than mine. It makes for an interesting conversation. Tried to ask intelligent questions. Most entrepreneurs tend to be deep on their topic or the market they are trying to serve. But often they don’t know much about things in other domains. But every once in a while, somebody comes along who is both a wide and a deep thinker. Out of the group of all of us, they tend to be the special humans who stand out. I am blessed to be following 50,000 thinkers. Thank you for making my life so interesting trying to keep up. My freeway thinking. :-)
