Digital Extremes wrapped up this year's TennoCon on July 11 in London, Ontario, revealing substantial new content for both its long-running sci-fi shooter Warframe and the pre-alpha fantasy RPG Soulframe. The annual fan festival, which ran from July 10 to 11, served as the stage for a pair of major announcements that have players looking ahead to the rest of the year.
Warframe's next major update, titled Warframe: Tau, transports players to an entirely new solar system. Eurogamer reported that the expansion "brings players to a Blade Runner and Sopranos-inspired locale, and tackles themes of addiction and its dangers head-on." The noir and crime drama aesthetic was further highlighted by PakGamersHub, which described the update as "a unique blend of noir and crime drama." Alongside the Tau reveal, GamingTrend noted that a new Warframe called Brysko was teased, alongside a main quest update.
On the Soulframe side, Digital Extremes unveiled 'Warsong,' a content drop that introduces a corruption-based skill system and the ability to ride wolf mounts. Inven Global captured the scope of the reveal with a direct pull from the presentation: "From Corruption Skills to Wolf Mounts." The update marks another step forward for the still-developing title, which remains in pre-alpha according to COGconnected.
IGN France summed up the dual reveals by calling TennoCon 2026 a "galaxy brain" event, noting that developer Digital Extremes "showcased long-anticipated updates that will not only take players to new locations." Both Warframe: Tau and Soulframe's Warsong are expected to roll out later this year, with further details promised closer to launch.
