Tau is the home of the Sentients faction, and its first revealed area is a ringed city called Fornax. According to Rock Paper Shotgun, Fornax is a noir-themed locale where "occupants are plagued by corrupting rain and addicted to a substance called the Bloom." IGN France elaborated on the atmosphere, describing "the black rain-soaked streets" and the desperate residents who "have turned to the mind-altering Bloom in search of escape."
