The Delhi government decided to introduce a dedicated single-window online portal to streamline electric vehicle ( EV ) incentives and charging infrastructure approvals under the newly notified Delhi EV Policy 2026. The digital platform will allow buyers to apply for purchase incentives, enable direct benefit transfers (DBT), and simplify approvals for charging infrastructure through a unified system. Only Approved EV Models Eligible for Incentives The government has clarified that purchase incentives under the policy will be available only for EV models approved by the Delhi Transport Department. Manufacturers will be required to register eligible models on the portal before customers can claim benefits. The measure is aimed at ensuring that incentives are disbursed only for vehicles meeting the policy's technical and safety requirements while improving transparency in subsidy administration. Digital Portal Besides processing incentive claims, the online platform will also function as a single-window clearance system for EV charging infrastructure. Charging point developers, housing societies, commercial establishments and other applicants will be able to obtain approvals through the portal instead of approaching multiple government departments. The policy also mandates EV dealerships to provide public charging facilities, while encouraging residential societies and private entities to expand Delhi's charging network. The government expects the platform to reduce processing time for incentives, simplify regulatory approvals and support the planned expansion of the city's charging infrastructure. The Delhi EV Policy 2026 targets wider EV adoption through financial incentives, tax exemptions and charging infrastructure investments. Delhi has so far registered over 50,000 EV sales this year, with the number crossing 10,500 EV sales in the month of June alone.
