Studio Trigger announced a second season of its hit anime adaptation of Ryoko Kui's Delicious in Dungeon and teased a new original project from the celebrated duo Hiroyuki Imaishi and Kazuki Nakashima, according to Polygon. The studio made both announcements at Anime Expo 2024.
The new Imaishi-Nakashima project, the pair behind Kill la Kill and Promare, was described as a "passion project" for the duo, though details remain scarce. Polygon reported that the project is highly anticipated by anime fans.
Delicious in Dungeon, also known as Dungeon Meshi, follows adventurers who must cook and eat monsters to survive in a dungeon. Polygon noted that the first season was well-received for its unique blend of fantasy adventure and cooking, and has been a hit on Netflix.
