New Delhi: Google is rolling out a new feature in Search Console that will allow creators and publishers to track how their content on Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube performs across Google Search and Discover. Called platform properties, the new Search Console property type is designed to give creators, including those without their own websites, a consolidated view of how their social media and video content is being discovered through Google Search. The feature follows an earlier experiment by Google and will be rolled out gradually over the coming weeks. With platform properties, creators will be able to see which search queries drive users to their content across supported platforms, along with engagement metrics such as clicks and impressions. "We're thrilled to introduce platform properties, a new Search Console property type to help site owners and creators understand how their social and video posts perform on Google Search and Discover," Google said in a blog post. The company added, "Now, you can track which search terms lead people to your Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube content on Search, and see exactly how your audience is interacting with your posts." Google said platform properties will offer three reporting features to help creators better understand how their content performs on Search. The Performance report provides data on clicks, impressions, and other key metrics, while allowing users to filter results by top-performing posts and search queries. The Insights report offers a snapshot of recent traffic trends, highlights the best-performing content, and shows how users discover creator accounts through Google Search. Meanwhile, the Achievements section tracks growth by recognising milestones, such as reaching new click thresholds from Google Search over the past 28 days. Creators can also export the data for analysis using third-party tools. To access the feature, users will need to add a new property in Search Console, select one of the four supported platforms, and complete the verification process to authorise the connection. Initially, the feature supports Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube.
