CachyOS Rolls Out Fourth 2026 ISO with Hyprland Noctalia and Network Enhancements

CachyOS, the Arch-based Linux distribution optimized for gaming and performance, has released its June 2026 ISO, marking the fourth update this year. The new snapshot introduces a fresh desktop option and several under-the-hood improvements aimed at speed and connectivity, according to linuxiac and Hacker News.

This new desktop environment gives users a visually distinct alternative during installation, though linuxiac noted the preview video helps convey the look and feel of the Noctalia variant.

Performance gains come from compiler-level tuning. linuxiac reported that the ISO includes Python extended PGO for better runtime performance, while Hacker News added that a GCC patch targets branch misprediction for modern Intel and AMD CPUs. Both outlets highlighted the addition of DNS-over-QUIC support, which encrypts DNS queries for improved privacy and speed.
