A humpback whale named Timmy died just 4-5 days after being freed from a bay in Wismar, Germany. According to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Environment Minister Till Backhaus, tracking data showed the whale traveled about 215 kilometers after release on May 2 but quickly swam back toward the Baltic Sea region where it had previously encountered problems multiple times.
