According to the Dw website, the young man initially managed to escape but was stopped after a brief manhunt that also involved a helicopter. Police said they have not yet definitively established whether the boy is a student at Welfen-Gymnasium, a high school in Schongau, and have not yet provided official information on the weapon used in the attack.
