Banijay and All3Media Finalize Mega-Merger, Establish $8 Billion Indie Behemoth in London

"forming a new London-based production and distribution powerhouse valued at $8 billion."

The new powerhouse controls a vast library of hit shows including The Traitors, Big Brother, MasterChef, and Peaky Blinders, and owns nearly 200 production companies and labels, Deadline reported. This massive scale positions the merged entity to dominate content creation across genres and territories.

"world's largest independent production company"

Variety

Variety reported that the company will be jointly owned by Banijay Group and RedBird IMI, each holding a 50% stake, and will be consolidated by Banijay Group. Jeff Zucker, former CNN chief, will serve as Chair of the new entity. The decision to base the headquarters in London, All3Media's home city, marks a shift from Banijay's Parisian roots.

The merger is another boost to the UK's creative sector, according to ft.com, which noted that the London base for the production group behind The Traitors strengthens the country's television industry. As the independent production landscape consolidates, this deal follows the recent Sky-ITV partnership and signals a new era of scale-driven content competition.
