Arsenal have accepted a £17.1 million offer from Turkish club Besiktas for winger Leandro Trossard, Yahoo News New Zealand reported. The 31-year-old is now expected to move to Istanbul, though the deal has not yet been finalized.
Goal.com reported that the total package is valued at €20 million, with €18 million guaranteed and a further €2 million in potential add-ons. The breakdown highlights a structure designed to spread the cost while rewarding future performance.
Negotiations over personal terms remain ongoing. According to Goal.com, Trossard's wages are expected to be around €9 million, and those talks have not yet been concluded. The transfer is not a done deal until the player agrees to the contract.
"less than 12 months to run on his contract"
That ticking clock gave Arsenal little leverage. Despite signing a new deal in August, the Belgian international's short remaining term pushed the club toward a sale, Yahoo News New Zealand noted.
"€2m in performance-related add-ons"
Goal.com also confirmed that Arsenal are pursuing the deal with an eye toward a summer overhaul. The fee, while modest for a player of Trossard's quality, allows the club to reinvest in younger targets as they reshape the squad.
