An Extreme Heat Warning continues through Thursday for a large area of the Southwest including the Coachella Valley where high temperatures will peak in the middle one-teens. Because Valley temps will also exceed 110° on Friday, this advisory will likely be extended.Surface moisture will remain relatively dry today and tomorrow before dew points rise into the 50s and 60s beginning this weekend. The Valley will be under mostly cloudy conditions starting Sunday, conditions which will continue into the middle of next week. Some tropical moisture will be directed over Southern California on Monday and Tuesday which may lead to a few mountain thunderstorms both afternoons. But -- according to the latest GFS weather forecast models -- the best shot of seeing SoCal and Coachella Valley rain will be on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of next week. Stay tuned!@JerrySteffen @NBCPalmSprings For more Coachella Valley News visit NBCPalmSprings.com
