Adobe has acquired Topaz Labs, an AI company specializing in image and video enhancement that has been operating for over two decades and won an Emmy last year, Variety and TechCrunch reported. The deal will bring Topaz's tools into Adobe's Firefly AI studio, enterprise products, and Creative Cloud suite, giving creators more control over image and video quality, according to Variety.
Topaz Labs was founded more than twenty years ago and has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of AI-assisted media. Variety noted that the company developed 'Neurostream' technology, which enables AI models to run locally on consumer devices, broadening accessibility.
