Clinical trial finds existing drug dupilumab may treat rare GI disease eosinophilic gastritis

A clinical trial supported by the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN) found that dupilumab, an existing drug, may be an effective treatment for eosinophilic gastritis (EoG), a rare gastrointestinal disease with no FDA-approved treatments. EoG causes chronic symptoms like vomiting, bloating, diarrhea, ulcers, and GI bleeding due to immune system overreaction in the digestive tract. The findings offer a potential new therapeutic option for patients with this rare condition.
