Harry Styles kicked off his MSG residency with a completely revamped setlist and a tribute to Dolly Parton, dominating the music conversation today. Meanwhile, Wild Pink and Plum get thoughtful reviews, and a new free saturation plugin drops for producers.
Harry Styles made the biggest splash today, ditching his usual setlist for a fresh one that included a new song and a Dolly Parton tribute.
Harry Styles debuted a heavily revamped setlist for his 30-show MSG residency, including rearranged older songs and a new track, plus a brief tribute to Dolly Parton.
A second outlet covers the same story, confirming that Styles abandoned his three-month-old setlist to honor Parton and shake things up.
Two new albums get thoughtful coverage, with Wild Pink's krautrock-tinged heartland rock and Plum's kinetic post-punk both earning praise.
A Pitchfork feature dives into Wild Pink's 2024 album *Dulling the Horns*, focusing on the track "Eating the Egg Whole" and its krautrock-infused heartland rock sound.
Plum's second album *Bodies in Motion* gets a positive review, with the track "Anxiety" highlighted as a kinetic, new wave-inspired song that practically demands dancing.
A free saturation plugin from a one-person studio is worth a look for producers on a budget.
Wild Surmise's Ispín is a free saturation plugin for desktop and iOS that can work as subtle glue or full-on distortion, useful for adding weight to thin tracks.
