Summary
A team from Monterey Bay Aquarium and MBARI completed a five-day expedition to Guide Seamount and Ascension Canyon off the coast of Central California. Led by Megan Olhasso and George Matsumoto, the team used MBARI's ROV Doc Ricketts aboard the research vessel David Packard to explore rocky ridges and collect deep-sea animals. Some of the collected species went on display at the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Into the Deep/En lo Profundo exhibition, including species shown publicly for the first time anywhere in the world.
