The performance took place ten minutes before kickoff, with Perry in a glittering silver dress and Lukas singing the opening and closing lines of the song.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup USA Opening Ceremony at Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood also featured performances by LISA, Anitta, Tyla, Rema, Future, Dan + Shay, and Purahei Soul, according to Stereogum.
Perry shared on Instagram that Tius Luka originally recorded his vocal part for the track in 2021 at age five, Stereogum reported.
