Summary
Joe Negri, the jazz guitarist and handyman on "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood," died at age 99 on May 30. After serving in WWII, Negri studied composition at Carnegie Tech, became a premier jazz guitarist in Pittsburgh, and frequently performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Fred Rogers invited him to join the new WQED show that became "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood," where Negri began performing music by the show's 13th episode, starting with Rogers' song "Sometimes People Are Good."
