Why people not use graphs to help AI understand codebase???

Understanding and working on a large codebase is a big hassle for coding agents and humans like me as well. I tried plotting graphs for codebases and using them to guide chatgpt and ai assisted coding IDEs give coherent responses. can you tell me why is this a bad idea???
