Summary
The Dutch cabinet is abandoning its plan for a national levy on packages from outside the European Union. Earlier this year, the Netherlands announced it wanted to introduce a €2 per item fee for such packages, but the government will now wait for a similar European tax to take effect later this year. State Secretary of Finance Eelco Eerenberg communicated this decision in a letter to the House of Representatives.
