The Rotunda Hospital, Ireland's largest maternity hospital, has agreed to stop allowing consultants on public-only contracts from treating private patients, ending a conflict with the Government. The dispute came to light after Master of the Rotunda Professor Seán Daly testified before the Oireachtas Health Committee that the practice was continuing despite a directive to stop. Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill requested the hospital provide clarification on the matter.
