Reflections on AI's Impact: Personal Perspectives on Technology and Human Concerns

I'm sitting on a lānai in a hotel in Waikiki beach, writing this article, and wondering if the job I am starting nine days from now will be my last.

There's one difference this time: I'm writing about AI, and I'm wondering if the job I'm starting in nine days will be my last because of it.

I guess I kinda get why people hate AI - it's not just about job displacement, but about what it means to be human in a world where machines can do so much of what we thought made us unique.

The fear isn't that AI will become too intelligent; it's that we'll become too dependent on it, losing the very skills and creativity that define us.

Maybe the real question isn't whether AI will replace us, but whether we'll let it replace the parts of ourselves that matter most.
