UK Government's Jury Trial Restrictions Questioned: Prioritization Over Rights Reduction Suggested

4d agoenOpinion

Summary

A critique of the UK government's argument for limiting the right to a jury trial due to court backlogs. The author questions the logic, suggesting that instead of removing jury rights for minor crimes, the government should prioritize serious violent crimes at the front of the queue and take sentencing more seriously.

As opposed to, say, moving violent crimes to the front of the queue.
