Good intentions, undercooked execution. The bake is missing.
Summary
The rehabilitation and expansion of the Porto Municipal Public Library (BPMP) has begun, two years after its closure. The project, led by architect Souto de Moura, is the largest municipal project in 25 years with a budget of €33.7 million. The library is expected to reopen in May 2030 — three years for construction plus one year to re-equip the space and return thousands of books and documents that have been distributed across the library network. The project aims to modernize the library and "open space to the city."
