Summary
Olivia Rodrigo's third studio album was intended to be a happy love album, but instead continues her pattern of heartbreak-themed music. After rising to fame with the breakup ballad "drivers license" in 2021, both her debut album SOUR (the most-streamed album by a female artist on Spotify) and follow-up GUTS dealt with the cruelties of ended relationships. Despite four number-one hits and three Grammy Awards, her planned love album didn't fully achieve its lighter tone.
