Summary
Intel has announced its first handheld gaming chip, the Arc G3, which will power upcoming handheld gaming PCs including Acer's first handheld device. The Panther Lake variant of the chip features 2 P-cores, 8 E-cores, and 4 LP E-cores (two fewer CPU cores than Intel's laptop Panther Lake chips) but includes a full set of Xe3 GPU cores (up to 12) optimized for gaming. Intel promises day-0 graphics driver updates for new games and precompiled shaders to reduce stutter and load times. At least three handhelds will use the chip, including the leaked MSI Claw 8 EX AI Plus and Acer's first handheld.
