In the 80's, it was weird for adults to play video games. Only kids played video games. Today, it's totally normal for 40-50 year olds to play games. Why? The kids in the 80s are now in their 40's-50's. They were the first generation to really be exposed to video games. They're pretty much the first generation of gamers. So 30 years from now, when they're in their 70's, they will probably still be playing games and it will be completely normal to see old people play games. Now, I'm not talking about playing casually like old people did with the Wii. But old people actually playing competitively, being knowledgeable about games etc...
