Volgens cijfers van conflictwaakhond Acled vielen er in 2024 wereldwijd meer dan 13.000 doden door drone-aanvallen, en dit jaar staat de teller al op 5.862. De cijfers zijn vermoedelijk nog een onderschatting omdat alleen direct aan drones gekoppelde doden worden meegeteld, en data uit landen als Rusland, Soedan en Myanmar beperkt beschikbaar is.
